“Is teasing humans really that fun?” Hephaestus asked.

“Didn’t you see the look on her face?” I laughed, unable to stop. Honestly, sometimes I act younger than my own sons.

“Still,” Hephaestus muttered, “it didn’t work all that well. Telepathy, soul-hopping, lying next to her like a ghost...”

“Well, she did want physical contact. I’m just giving her what she wants!”

“Haven’t you mastered the art of flirting after being immortal for millennia?” Apollo asked, leaning casually against a marble pillar.

“Wait—Hephaestus, did you say you could steal human souls and lie next to them?” Hermes perked up. “Let me try! I’m going to borrow some K-pop idols and lie dramatically across their beds.”

“If I don’t have the art of seduction,” I said proudly, “how did I end up with so many of you? Goddess, mortal, nymph—they all fall for me.”

Cue silence.

My sons had vanished again. No one sticks around when Dad starts bragging.
